Vegan Hot Chocolate Recipe
Even my husband who is NOT vegan LOVES this hot chocolate and prefers it over any boxed mix from the store. It is so easy to make too!
If you know anything about the recipes I make, you’ll know easy is my middle name. Who doesn’t love an easy recipe? I know I do! That might be obvious though, as easy recipes are all I create *cough cough* my Healthy Nutella Banana Bread, Chocolate Chip Coconut Baked Oatmeal, Cookies and Cream Protein Shake, 4-Ingredient Gluten-Free Lava Cakes and that’s just the beginning! But for real, this healthy hot cocoa is such a yummy cozy drink that you can sip all throughout the year!
I’ve served this healthy drink to so many people and all of them absolutely adore it. And I can feel good about sharing it with them because it has all-natural REAL ingredients that will actually make them feel good!
How To Make Vegan Hot Chocolate
This hot chocolate is super easy to make. Just put some water in a microwave-safe mug or on the stove, mix in the rest of the ingredients, and voila! BONUS: you can run it through a blender or use a hand frother to get that good froth 🙂 Both options are equally delicious. Full instructions are below in the recipe.
Best Vegan Hot Coaoa
This really is the best recipe out there. I love how there are hidden superfoods in it that give you a boost of energy. If you’re wondering what the benefits are to these superfoods you should definitely check out this blog post where I talk about the benefits of some of these superfoods. This hot chocolate is so creamy, rich, and decadent that you would never guess it was healthy.

Copycat Starbucks Hot Chocolate But Made Healthy!
This hot chocolate recipe is very different than the Starbucks version! Starbucks ‘ version uses 2% milk. Yes, you can get the Starbucks hot chocolate with non-dairy milk, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that it will still be over 40 grams of added sugar!!!! :0
Is Starbucks Hot Chocolate Vegan?
Just check out this comparison chart of my healthy hot chocolate compared to Starbucks hot chocolate (with almond milk). It’s insane! The Starbucks hot chocolate has almost 5 X the number of calories than my vegan hot chocolate recipe. And the fat?! Yikes. Mine only has 3.6 grams compared to the Starbucks version with 16 grams! The sugar really blows my mind though. 43 grams of ADDED sugar as opposed to only 7.1 grams of sugar from an all-natural ingredient, pure maple syrup. There really is no competition here.

Can You Make This Hot Chocolate Into A Mix?
Yes! You can absolutely make this hot chocolate into a hot chocolate mix. Just multiply the recipe by how many servings you want your hot chocolate mix to make. For instance, if you want to make a large batch of mix, I would multiply the ingredients by 10 to get at least 10 servings. Mind you, this serving is a large glass of hot cocoa so you would probably get even more than 10 servings out of it. Let me know if you make it into a mix because I’d love to see 🙂 Tag me on Instagram or Facebook with a picture of it!
