Add frozen bananas, almond milk, and almond extract to a high-speed blender or food processor. Blend until smooth, scraping down the sides when needed or using the tamper that comes with your blender.
Once the bananas are smooth, add in the protein powder and blend again until combined.
Serve immediately as “soft serve” or transfer to a medium container and place in the freezer to harden (about 1-2 hours). Top with coconut whipped cream or whipped topping of choice and naturally colored sprinkles! Enjoy.
Storage: store birthday cake nice cream in the freezer for up to 2 months. Remove from the freezer and allow to defrost at least 5 minutes before serving.

Oh nice cream, how I love you dearly. If you’re new to this whole “nice cream” idea, let me explain. Think bananas in a smooth soft-serve texture. The texture of ice cream, but completely dairy-free and vegan! So easy to make too. Just two ingredients: frozen bananas and any milk of choice. What’s so great about nice cream you may be asking? Well, it’s perfect if you can’t eat dairy and you’re craving something cold and sweet.
Does it taste like regular ice cream? I’m going to be honest…no haha. It tastes like bananas because it IS BANANAS. But, you can dress up the flavors to any nice cream and make it taste SO MUCH BETTER! Hence this birthday cake nice cream flavor. It will not disappoint! In most of my recipes, I really strive to have the finished product taste just like the real thing (like my healthy homemade Nutella, or my copycat cosmic brownies). But that’s why I didn’t name this nice cream “ice cream” because that would be just a straight-up lie. It ain’t ice cream… it’s Nice Cream 😉

What Blender To Use To Make Banana Ice Cream
My all-time favorite high-speed blender brand is Vitamix. We’ve had ours for 5 years and it is still running like a champ. And I am not easy with that thing. I blend oats in it ALL THE TIME to make oat flour. Check out my “how to make homemade flour” blog post here if you’re interested in learning how to do that. Saves so much time and money! Here is the Vitamix Blender we have and love!
