Healthy Chocolate Sauce

If you’re looking for a Healthy Chocolate Sauce that is super easy to make, you’ve come to the right recipe. This homemade chocolate sauce is thick, perfectly sweetened, allergy-friendly, and vegan. Prepare to drizzle this healthy syrup over everything now!

Ingredients

Instructions

1. In a small saucepan add cacao powder, coconut sugar, and pink salt. Mix until combined. Add in water.

2. Place saucepan over medium heat and stir until combined. Bring to a boil then reduce heat and let the sauce simmer for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened. 

3. Remove from heat and mix in vanilla extract.

4. You may use the sauce right away, but for a thicker sauce, transfer to a glass jar or container and place in the refrigerator for 30-60 minutes to thicken.  

5. Serve over homemade healthy protein ice cream, vegan ice cream, regular ice cream, homemade chocolate banana bread, on top of coffees or healthy hot chocolates, mix it in with milk to make chocolate milk, or add it to whatever your heart desires! Store in an airtight container or jar in the refrigerator for up to 10 days. You may re-heat the sauce slightly before serving to get desired consistency.

Notes

1. Coconut Sugar- DO NOT use granulated monk fruit sweetener. I tested this and the sugar crystalized when refrigerated 🙁 I haven't tested any other sweetener, so if you do, let me know how it turns out!

As I mentioned above, this chocolate sauce is made with cacao powder! It is my absolute favorite way to use cacao powder too because you only need 3 other ingredients with it. How To Make Healthy Chocolate Sauce

This recipe is so easy to make! It took me 5 tries to perfect the taste and texture, but I made sure it was perfect for you. You simply add the dry ingredients to the pot. Mix them together and then add in the water. Place the pot over medium heat and bring to a simmer. Allow to simmer for 3 minutes until thicken and then place in the refrigerator to cool and thicken more. So easy!!!! Better Than Store-Bought Healthy Chocolate Sauce

The real reason I tried my hand at making homemade healthy chocolate sauce is because my husbnad lovesss chocolate sauce on his ice cream every night. We had no problem purchasing “Hershey’s simple 5” because it had only 5 ingredients and was free of corn syrup. However, it always felt like we were going on a wild goose chance to find it at the store. Have you ever felt like that when trying to find a random thing at a grocery store?! 

Well, we ended up giving up. And instead, I made my own recipe that is completely refined sugar-free now! So not only does it save us time from searching in the store, but it also saves us money because of the simple ingredients. AND bonus, it tastes EVEN BETTER than the store-bought version.
